Today we have the privilege of sharing an early stream of “Throned Entropy” the latest featured track taken from Dallas, Texas-based black metal quartet WYRM CHASM‘s debut full-length album ‘Wyrm Chasm‘. Formed over a decade ago and largely active in the late 2010’s these folks’ve taken their time to ensure a high standard for this self-titled and self-released debut record both in terms of sharp presentation up front and an emphasis on the inner workings of their craft. Throughout these eight pieces they achieve a meticulously ranting craft well worth delving into thanks to loftier, inward-seeking arrangements.

Our subject for today, “Throned Entropy”, offers the forlorn rally of melodic black metal and the dramatic drapery of the atmospheric black metal palette as Wyrm Chasm‘s style is capably redefined. Of particular note for my taste here is the rhythm section’s presence and the percussive stampede through the song, a hammer which still allows plenty of room for their guitarists to ring out and rush through their motions. The dramatic voicing which we find on this song carries through the whole of ‘Wyrm Chasm‘ to great effect, generating sublimely dark character and heavier grooves amidst a nightside apropos atmosphere.

Thanks goes out to WYRM CHASM and their representation for the opportunity to share this song early. Scroll down to the YouTube embed below to finalize your descent… As always, support the global black metal underground and grab a copy on CD or Vinyl LP this coming October 23rd, 2026:

Per the Press Release:

Dallas (TX) – U.S. Black Metal quartet Wyrm Chasm is set to release its self-titled, full-length debut album in October!

Wyrm Chasm is a feral force of black metal rising from Dallas, Texas. Formed in March 2015 by guitarist Eric Carrasco and bassist/vocalist Stephen Jeter, the band aimed to forge a cutting-edge sound rooted in raw atmospheres. A blend of atmospheric and melodic black metal, Wyrm Chasm crafts a cold, oppressive atmosphere punctuated with emotionally charged riffing and furious percussion.

“We’ve crafted our eponymous album into a melodic, yet atmospheric release that fully represents our sound and attack.”
