Today we have the privilege of sharing an early stream of “Nocturnal Ardour” the first featured track taken from Helsinki, Finland-based black metal solo act HAIL CONJURER‘s tenth full-length album ‘Abyss & Ekstasis‘. The singular work of H.K. (Hooded Menace, Ride For Revenge) since 2017, Hail Conjurer acts as a conduit that’d merge instinctive acts with long-forged gnosis in creation of experimental, primally summoned black metal. Their discography thus far remains amorphous in tone and texture, each album serving its own distinct meditation within harsh noise experimentation, primitive black metal, dark romanticist melodicism and seeming improvised structures early on.

With ‘Abyss & Ekstasis‘ the artist’s dark hand reaches out of body, achieving a new order of melodic subterranean dark metal in the process of accessing the unknown. The effect is fantastically dark, searching and forlorn as if pulled from an unknown crypt of early 90’s black/doom metal romanticism without becoming mired therein. This is probably most resonant as we address the subject of today, “Nocturnal Ardour”, the two-part conclusion of Side A wherein a doomed procession morphs into forlorn melodic black metal striding within moments. If you’ve followed the artist from the early days ’til now you should find this work a natural progression of forms, sleeker than ever but no less arcane and emergent in summon.

Hail Conjurer is a one-man band from Finland playing crude and experimental black metal. The band has been operating and prolific since starting in 2017, producing ten full length albums, several demos/EP releases and some collaborational records (like the noise/industrial/experimental collaborations with fellow-countryman projects Absolute Key and Metsäkirkko).

Staying true to his vision Hail Conjurer also performs solo (excluding the collaborational shows) and has been playing live in Finland, Estonia, Denmark, Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Spain, Portugal, Greece, UK, Russia and USA since the year of formation.
