An Early Stream of NOTHINGNESS “Vanquishing Providence” from ‘Godslaughter’ (2026)PREMIERE

Today we have the privilege of sharing an early stream of “Vanquishing Providence” the latest featured track taken from Minneapolis, Minnesota-based death metal sextet NOTHINGNESS‘ third full-length album ‘Godslaughter‘. Grinding away at their own form of bizarro semi-dissonant death metal since 2018 these folks have steadily tightened in structure with each release, finding a compelling sweet spot between imposing trample and odd-cut grooves on this third album.

Here the band transform their hand for off-the-cuff wheeling into mazelike barreling, a phenomenon we’ll witness at peak mutation via today’s subject, “Vanquishing Providence”. A mid-album cut set right at the end of Side A this song rides on some of the album’s chunkier riffs and greasiest doomed-out steps on the way to its infernal conclusion. Though it doesn’t capture the entire ouevre of the band on this new album this song should prepare the listener for Nothingness‘ handling of the muddier sling of early 2000’s Gorguts type movement amidst and the same sludgier-textured eras of Incantation and Morbid Angel in the process. Much more to say in review later this month but for now scroll down to check out the song for yourself.

Thanks goes out to Nothingness and the good folks at Everlasting Spew Records for the opportunity to share this song early.
