Today we have the privilege of sharing an early stream of “Violent Ascent” the latest featured track taken from Milwaukee, Wisconsin-based death metal trio HORRID MASS‘s debut full-length album ‘Nauseating Ecstatic Degeneration‘.

Carrying an abstract sometimes noisome blackened death edge into raw death metal foundation since 2023 these ex-members of Pig’s Blood and Carnal Ruin bring a ruggedly diabolic energy to this first album, a dark tendency sure to pickle the brains of folks who appreciate the droning, doomed hulk of early Cianide as much as Archgoat or Teitanblood. Today we’re featuring “Violent Ascent”, a late album track which perfectly encapsulates said dynamic, an above-average wield of caustic sounds wherein big death metal grooves dominate before bestial-blasted wrath pulls in to suffocate and slime about.

Bio and description:
The entity known as HORRID MASS was formed in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, back in 2022 by former members of Pig’s Blood and Carnal Ruin with the intent to channel the genre’s most barbaric traits and push the extremities of its sound forward through experimentation, atmosphere and dissonance. While drawing from the genre’s progenitors, HORRID MASS craft something wholly their own, shamelessly bludgeoning sound coalesce with grating noise and atmosphere to present something both primitive and hostile. Rooted in tradition yet striving to experiment, HORRID MASS exist in a furious state where structure and collapse are simultaneously at odds. Following the “Formless Dread” demo (2023), the band is ready to present their debut full-length, titled “Nauseating Ecstatic Degeneration”, which will definitely be a more fully realized version of their sound; a total descent into filth, chaos and sonic ruin, presenting HORRID MASS at their most punishing and immersive.
