Today we have the privilege of sharing an early stream of “The Wondrous Strand of Time” the latest featured track taken from Athens, Greece-based black metal quartet HERETIC CULT REDEEMER‘s fourth full-length album ‘In Oculum Chaos‘. Three years beyond the brilliant ‘Flagellum Universalis‘ the band return for an explosive, intensely detailed harnessing of chaotic energy into maniac form. Hinging on spiritual principles with evolutionary intent they’ve once again summoned mind-rending singularity rather than cumulative iteration.

‘In Oculum Chaos‘ shrieks, wails and whorls with obsidian surrealism within its fairly technical arousal of dissonant and even jazz fusion-esque rhythmic interplay. The path to our subject today, mid-album piece “The Wondrous Strand of Time”, appears thorn-lined and ritual born as the dark energetic warp of the full listen suffocates the senses ’til its barrage is readied. Consider it a hard cut into the second of three acts, finding its hammered pulse after the soul is scoured loose by ritual interlude (“Carnyx”.) Always an elite act with immense performances in mind this new material finds the band at broadest ouevre and highest rate expressivity, making far above-average use of dissonance in occult black metal in the process.
