Today we have the privilege of sharing an early stream of ‘Only Death is Eternal‘ the latest EP from Singapore-based death metal quartet DOLDREY which releases this coming August 2nd. Their work once again features a unique combination of pure death metal, death/thrash metal, hardcore punk, and crossover/metalpunk combined in seamless stylized function. Their focus is generally upon ‘old school’ death metal sounds first and foremost but their work has reached far more nuance and personae to be lumped in with the plain death metal-meets-hardcore of today as their tastes in metalpunk and street punk/crust run deeper than the usual face-value stuff on both sides, you can feel it in the attack of every riff and in the brain splattering riff-after-riff approach to these songs which manage to up the ante even more than their impressive 2022 debut LP ‘Celestial Deconstruction‘. Consider this EP the next step up in their work as they secure a deeper sense of mastery within each of these songs.
