Today we have the privilege of sharing an early stream of ‘Sangue Velho‘ the debut demo tape from Portuguese solo black metal act VETUS SANGUIS, a work with dreams of possession by the old blood with blasphemic intent. This demo releases this Monday, October 24th on Cassette Tape and digitally by way of the good folks at Portuguese darkest underground label Helldprod Records.
VETUS SANGUIS present a grotesque black exterior, influenced by the animalistic Nosferatu-esque entities of the early second wave that’d infused suave and insightful musical talent into caustic antithesis. Theirs is a craft perfectly set in the fog (or, smoke depending where you live) drenched autumnal mourn as the nearby hints/guideposts of earliest Satyricon and Carpathian Forest suggested are precisely fitting. The regal auld feeling of dread and possession within ‘Sangue Velho‘ particularly stands out by the skillful hand of Perversus who has not only crafted a cold-ringing presence within this tape but slowly reveals neatly crafted yet viscerally chopped guitar prowess throughout, acting as the pallbearer for these pieces as he captures lament, fury, and absolute hatred for Christ and flock.

Black metal has become, a long time ago, a fruitful all year season seed for all genre worshipers and is always ready to aim into those blackened hearts. Winter is coming, they say, but before Summer’s equinox yellow eyes blink a new harsh coldness and raw evil scorn will rise.
We present you the debut of a new creation made to fuel those passionate for the dark flaming arts. VETUS SANGUIS is a band of one entity intitule Perversus and “Sangue Velho” is the title of its first demo-tape. There’re both mystic and primal feelings into these songs that makes us light our inner fires and praise the ecstasy of our burning shadows. Beware that within this starkness lays the great wicked Serpent eager to pound the sons of the rotten apple.
Clearly inspired by themes like anti-christianity, witchery, misanthropy, and paganism, here, the cauldron flames burn high for all maniacs into the gloomy auras of early Satyricon and Carpathian Forest. Also “Sangue Velho” is fully sung in Portuguese honoring the bloodline of what’s black metal all about and making this last temptation a release with a crown of thorns to decay faith and bear spiritual hate!
